The Idaho Liberty League does not assume that more government is inherently better or that less government is inherently better. We evaluate whether government action is justified, constitutional, accountable, fiscally responsible, and effective.
Individual freedom is an important consideration, but receiving taxpayer funding is not itself an expression of individual liberty. Programs that spend public money should demonstrate public benefit and include appropriate safeguards for how those funds are used.
Similarly, regulation is not automatically considered harmful. Regulations that prevent fraud, improve transparency, protect consumers, or establish fair and predictable markets may produce substantial public benefit while still being evaluated for cost and government overreach.
